The Australian domain name space is due for a big shakeup starting from the 24th of March 2022 as a new Top Level Domain (TLD) is set to be released by the .au Domain Administration (auDA) .AU, the new domain name allowing more Australians than ever before to have the option to register a shorter, and easier to remember domain name.

The domain name .AU is another option for business, organisations, and individuals to register, and while a new domain name is coming in, the old domain names (.com.au, .org.au, .net.au) will be still be available to register.

A major defining point in the Australian domain name market, the new domain gives people more options to register their name, and is another option enabling the Australian identity to be used more internationally.

WebGo offers pre-registrations of these domain names for all customers through our Support team - simply select Domain Names, and submit your chosen domain name in the message field along with your contact details. Our friendly team will then advise on whether this domain name is available for pre-registration, and seek to pre-register it for you.The domain name will then be fully registered on the launch date (24 March 2022).

*Please note that this TLD is not able to be registered through our domain name search until the official launch date of the TLD onto the market, and pre-registration of this domain name does not equal registration until the launch date - it is simply reserving the domain name until the launch - so DNS, web forwarding, and email forwarding services are not available during this period.

Further information on the new .AU Top Level Domain can be found at the auDA web site.
