A quick tutorial on setting up Mail in Mac Mail.

Click >Mail > Preferences... and click on the Accounts tab

Click the + button, to add a new account.

In newer versions of Mail, you will probably need to select the type of account you are setting up:

Choose type of account

Select Add Other Mail Account and click Continue. If you are using and older version of Mail, you can skip this step and go to the next one.

Fill in the window with:

Only on older versions of Mail: Deselect the box labeled 'Automatically set up account'

Full Name: [your full name here]

Email Address: [username@domainname.com]

Password: [your email account password]

Click Continue/Create and fill in the following information:

For POP:

POP Settings

Account Type: select POP (store all mail locally on your computer)

Incoming Mail Server: Change to [your server's hostname - for example go.webgo.com.au - look in your welcome email for that information]

User Name: your full email address [username@domainname.com]

Password: enter your email account password

A pop up may ask you to verify the certificate, if so go ahead and accept it and click Connect/Next

It will now check your connection to the server

For IMAP:

IMAP Settings

Account Type: select IMAP (store mail on the server)

Incoming Mail Server: Change to [your server's hostname - for example go.webgo.com.au - look in your welcome email for that information]

User Name: your full email address [username@domainname.com]

Password: enter your email account password

A pop up may ask you to verify the certificate, if so, accept it and click Connect/Next.

It will now check your connection to the server

Outgoing Mail Server:

Outgoing Mail Server: Change to [your server's hostname - for example go.webgo.com.au - look in your welcome email for that information]

On older versions of Mail: Use Authentication: selected

User Name: your full email address [username@domainname.com]

Password: enter your email account password

A pop up may ask you to verify the certificate, if so, accept it and click Connect/Next.

On older versions of Mail: Account Summary: review your account

On older versions of Mail: Make sure Take Account Online is checked

Click Create/Next.

Mail should then have your account set up. If you run into issues sending or receiving mail, then you may want to check your account settings in the Accounts section of the preferences. Click on the name of your email account, and then click the Advanced tab:

If you have issues accessing mail, please try the secure IMAP or POP ports: 993 for IMAP or 995 for POP. Also make sure the Use SSL checkbox is checked.

If you have issues sending mail, please check your SMTP settings by selecting Edit SMTP Server List... item from the drop-down list next to the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) item and click the Advanced tab:

Make sure that Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is checked and that your full email address is your username and that your password is correct.
